Will there be a public New Year’s Celebration in Sarajevo?

The negotiation procedure of the City of Sarajevo for the procurement of services for the organization of the public New Year 2024 celebration in the city of Sarajevo has been canceled.

Probable reasons beyond the control of the contracting authority and which could not be foreseen at the time of initiation of the public procurement procedure are cited as the reason for cancellation.

“In the subject public procurement procedure, one tenderer submitted a request for participation that is not acceptable to the contracting authority, that is, it was not submitted in accordance with the Invitation to submit requests for participation. The aforementioned tenderer did not meet the conditions regarding economic and financial ability and technical and professional ability and is therefore inadmissible for contract cancellation, that is, the contracting authority could not proceed to the second stage of the procedure,” the annulment of the procedure states.

Namely, it was previously stated that the essential reason for conducting the Negotiation procedure without publishing a notice on procurement with a single bidder is the existence of only one bidder on the market who can provide services for the organization of the New Year 2024 in the city of Sarajevo with the obligation to engage the aforementioned music groups.

It should be recalled that after the analysis and consultation, the idea was presented to dedicate the next New Year 2024 to Sarajevo’s music pop rock scene. The idea is based on the fact that 2024 should mark 40 years since the Winter Olympic Games were held in Sarajevo – Sarajevo ZOI 84.

The working title of this idea “Sarajevo Story” was established, which would consist of four Sarajevo groups Bombaj Stampa, Zabranjeno pusenje, Letu Stuke, and Crvena Jabuka, N1 reports.
