The Minister of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton, Zlatko Mijatović announced that the low-cost airline Wizz Air will increase the number of weekly flights on the Sarajevo-Rome route from two to three, starting September 9, 2026.

He pointed out that flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with three weekly flights planned for the 2026/2027 winter season.

Mijatović believes this confirms the passengers’ interest and the sustainability of year-round airline connectivity between Sarajevo and Rome, which is one of the most important European tourist and business centers.

He said that the airline to the capital of Italy was established with support from the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, and Sarajevo International Airport.

He also reiterated that Wizz Air airplanes will fly this winter from Sarajevo to Berlin, Prague, and Bratislava.
