A women’s group from the RS will include an advisory body regarding gender equality, said at a meeting of the mandatory for the new RS government Željka Cvijanović with representatives of women nonprofit organizations from the RS.

The President of the Organization “Udružene žene” (United Women) from Banja Luka Nada Golubović said the specific focus at the meeting is on the employment of women, since there is a strategic plan for employment for 2011-2015.

“We will continue to cooperate after the first initial meeting, and we spoke of the problems of other nonprofit organizations’’, said Golubović.

The President of the Organization of Women “Lara” from Bijeljina Radmila Žigić said that Cvijanović put forward the main goals for the next period, as well as a part of the contents of the exposé.

She added that the position of women is significantly enhanced because many women have entered the RS government in larger numbers.

“Until now we have had good cooperation with the relevant ministries, and we now have the opportunity to significantly expand this cooperation’’, said Žigić.

She specified that women non-profit organizations, together with the RS government, until now have mostly cooperated in the area of protection of women against violence. Now, a story is opened of the importance of implementing strategies for employment that is gender sensitive.

“If it develops according to plan, it would be great not only for women, but for the entire population’’, said Žigić.
