workersWorkers of BH furniture industry MS & WOOD (Masters and wood) from Fojnica planted 11,000 seedlings of spruce in the action of reforestation in the wider locality of Vranica Mountain. Action of reforestation was conducted in cooperation with the “Forest Office Fojnica” – Forests of SBC.

Last year, MS & WOOD purchased 8,000 m3 of beech roundwood. This year, MS & WOOD planted 11,000 seedlings, and another 5,000 seedlings will be planted by the end of the year, which means that this company will plant two new trees for every m3 of roundwood.

“We invite all companies in the wood industry in our country to do the same. In BiH is annually cut 5.6 million m3 of forest. If we apply our model to save BH forests, we would have 11.2 million new seedlings every year. Along with the natural growth, this could lead BiH to some normal frame of medium-rich forest countries. Everything else leads to long-term destruction of our most important resource for development, “said Muhamed Pilav, Director of MS & WOOD.

This data is from the “Plan of cutting of state forest estates”, is only applied to the so-called high forest, and are an integral part of the “Export Growth Strategy of BiH from 2012 to 2015”, which is prepared by the Export Council of BiH in December 2011.

“We import wood as raw material from Croatia and other countries, and we produce the best and most beautiful furniture in the world. Numerous international awards confirm this fact. This year, our furniture was awarded with the highest awards at the prestigious furniture fair in Cologne, and Triennale di Milano, which is the most important place of its kind in the world, where you can be happy that you are even invited to attend, BH furniture was included in the regular setting of Triennial for the first time since its establishment in 1923, “said Pilav.

Seedlings of spruce which were planted on the sites Prokos and Luzine were provided by the “Forest Office Fojnica,” from the plant nursery Busovaca.
