Works on the main promenade in Sarajevo, Ferhadija, Street is coming to an end, was confirmed by mayor of Stari Grad municipality Ibrahim Hadzibajric. There are about 70 meters squares left to be paved.

“I hope that in four to five days the works will be completed. The Strossmayer Street will be reconstructed in September precisely because of the tourist season and Sarajevo Film Festival. Funds for the reconstruction of the street have been provided,” Hadzibajric said.

He pointed out that projects in the area of the Old City are worth 24 million BAM.

“If we take into account that the entire Federation does not produce more than 20 million BAM, then it is clear to you that the biggest construction site in Stari Grad is my joy,” said the mayor.

Hadzibajric said that the delay in the works in Ferhadija was due to the lack of stone used by the contractors.

“For the Strossmeyer Street, I asked first to provide the stone so that the works could begin. We have fewer and fewer quality firms that are left without workers. That is the number one problem, but I am afraid that in the next two or three years the companies will lose their jobs,” said the mayor of Stari Grad municipality, News Agency Patria reports.
