World Premiere of “Love Island” at the Locarno International Film Festival

jasmilaJasmila Žbanić’s film “Love Island” as part of the  program of the Locarno film festival to be held at Piazza Grande from 6th to 16th August will have its world premiere.

The film Love Island (co-written with Aleksandar Hemon) tells a story of a pregnant French woman who lives in Sarajevo with her Bosnian husband and their daughter. They go for a vacation at a Croatian island, where things get complicated when they all become attracted to a beautiful woman.

The cast is composed out of: Ariane Labed, Ada Condeescu, Ermin Bravo, Franco Nero, Leon Lučev, Bojana Gregorić, Jelena Lopatić, Branka Petrić Fehmiu, Lee Delong, a producenti su Damir Ibrahimović and Leon Lučev.

It is a co-production of Croatia, Germany, Suisse and B&H and will be showing as a part of the program Piazza Grande taking place on the main town square, along with the films of famous directors such as Luc Besson, Lasse Hallstrom and Olivier Assayas.

The jury to decide of the best film in the international competition will be composed out of: director Gianfranco Rossi, German director Thomas Arslan, Brazilian actress Alice Braga, Danish actress Connie Nielsen and Chinese director Diao Yinan.

The Locarno film festival is one of the oldest and most important European festivals. It’s been taking place for almost seventy years and it is being famous by constantly revealing new film talents and trends.
