orkestar_ugljevikThe accordion orchestra “Aleksa Šantić” from Ugljevik is the winner at the festival “Zemlja je naš zajednički dom” (the earth is our common home), which is being held in Yekaterinburg, Russia, since 18 April.

‘’We are the absolute winners among 16 countries that took part in the festival. The award was given to us by the Minister of Culture of the city of Yekaterinburg’’, said the head of the orchestra Slavko Nikolić.

He was especially pleased that they, as emphasized, entertained the audience with traditional Serbian music and managed to beat participants from 16 countries, ‘’From Russia to the USA’’.

The concert was held in the building of the philharmonic of the city of Yekaterinburg.

The accordion orchestra “Aleksa Šantić” from Ugljevik took part as the only representative from B&H at the festival, which has been held since 1982 in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg.

The accordion orchestra from Ugljevik participated this year in the cultural part of the program of the Olympics in Sochi.
