Young Farmers received 7.7 Million BAM from the Federation of BiH

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry announced that it continues its strong and responsible support for young people who are building their future in the agricultural sector. Within the framework of the measure Starting a Business for Young Farmers (PMP), 101 young farmers were supported in the first phase, for which 4.75 million BAM was provided, with 100% co-financing of planned investments and a maximum amount of support of up to 50,000 BAM per beneficiary.

“Although a total of 172 young farmers met all the prescribed conditions, the available funds at that time were only sufficient for a portion of the applications. Thanks to the redistribution of unspent budget funds and responsible management of public money, the Federal Ministry proposed to the Government of the Federation of BiH amendments to the Program for the Expenditure of Funds Intended for Agriculture. The Government of the Federation of BiH adopted this decision at an emergency telephone session, which provided an additional 2.975 million BAM for the measure Starting a Business for Young Farmers – the statement of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry states.

In this way, the Ministry will pay the amount of 7.675 million BAM to the accounts of 170 young farmers, which includes all young farmers who met the conditions.

“In just for two years, we allocated slightly less than nine million BAM for young farmers in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and helped nearly 200 young families to start their own business and stay on their land and in their Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am very happy about this measure. This is a clear message of trust and responsibility for young people to stay on their land, in their country, and build a sustainable future for themselves and their communities,” said Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Kemal Hrnjić.

The Ministry explained that the allocated funds will be invested by young people in the purchase of breeding livestock (dairy and meat heifers, sheep and goats), as well as the construction and equipping of greenhouses and the establishment of permanent plantations, with a contractual obligation to maintain breeding livestock and greenhouses for at least five years. This ensures long-term sustainability of investments, strengthening domestic production and the development of rural areas.

“Young farmers will attend the ceremony of awarding the decisions on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of BiH in Sarajevo, where they will officially be awarded decisions on exercising the right to financial support, which confirms the commitment of institutions to transparency and support for young people,” the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry announced.
