These solutions, among others, were offered at the event organised by the EU Delegation to BiH titled “One meter of problems – 100 meters of solutions” held on 4th of November in Sarajevo and Banja Luka. Solutions were put forward by primary, high school and university students as well as representatives of nongovernmental organizations from Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Kakanj, Zenica, Brčko, Prijedor, Bihać, Bijeljina, Visoko, Teslić and Kotor Varoš. They wrote down their ideas on how to solve the everyday problems they are faced with on a hundred meters of canvas.

Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, Head of EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative in BiH, wrote down the first problem “environment” assigning the primary school students to offer their solutions on the environmental protection problem. High school and university students offered their solutions on education and employment while nongovernmental organizations and university students responded to the problem of corruption.

“I am happy to listen to how young people across BiH want their country free of corruption, with better environment, education and employment,” said Ambassador Wigemark. He also encouraged local politicians to try to listen to the voices of young people more often.

Primary, high school and university students will offer their solution in Grude on Saturday, 11 November in the central park. Following these events the canvases with the solutions will be displayed at the EU Info Centre and the EU Info Offices in Banja Luka, Mostar and Brčko.
