Six members of the Trade Union Committee of the Subsidiary Company Rudnici Mekog uglja Zenica, who are on hunger strike, spent the second night in the Miners’ Home.
A member of the Trade Union Committee, Elvedin Alić, points out that they have no intention of ending the strike, despite yesterday’s announcement by the Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vedran Lakić.
The minister announced that intensive work is being done to solve the problem of the Zenica miners, that is, that they could have an account open to receive funds from the World Bank.
The Zenica miners are demanding payment of at least two salaries, out of the four they are owed in total.
“To open an account and accept funds from the World Bank, the signature of State Minister Srđan Amidžić is required. Only after the account is opened can the next steps be discussed. Until then, we will remain on strike,” says Alić.
He points out that there is no information that funds for salaries in RMU Zenica could be secured from another source.
The Zenica mine, as is known, has no production and its shutdown is planned, Fena writes.
