Bico is architect – designer in the Technical sector of the Municipality of Ronneby, Sweden. This expert is annually engaged on four to five multimillion projects. This year he was awarded for his work of designing one pre-school facility and one primary school.
For designing of kindergarten according to so-called healthy building, Swedish Green Building Council awarded Bico for the best sustainable project. Together with his co-workers, he represented Sweden at the World Sustainable Building last year in Barcelona.
Special attention was given to solar energy and buildings are fully producing their own energy, good ventilation system and “smart electrical energy.”
It is interesting that children as beneficiaries of this facilities are allowed to draw and later arrange it according to their wishes. All furniture, toys and other furniture that children are using are healthy and made out of tested materials.
“It is of great importance for me as an architect to be in contact with all parties engaged in the project during the entire process of design, starting with the children who will be using kindergarten / school, their teachers, parents, etc. in order to achieve more effective and efficient results.”
On the question if this type of construction is applicable in our country, Bico answered:
“I think that this type of construction is possible and desirable in B&H. This type of construction is not automatically more expensive, however it does require longer-term planning, design, and bigger focus on the moments that are leading towards the achievement of good results.”
