Zvizdic: BiH will celebrate public holidays as a Member of the EU and NATO

Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić said on the occasion of the Independence Day that, in the not too distant future, Bosnia and Herzegovina will celebrate its day of independence and statehood as a member of the EU and as a full member of the NATO Alliance.

He reminded that Bosnia and Herzegovina has had almost identical borders for centuries, its national character and geopolitical and social uniqueness, that it is older than both Croatia and Serbia, and that it existed as an independent state the longest of all the Balkan feudal states.

“BiH and its multicultural and multi-confessional society remained within its historical boundaries and survived during the Ottoman Empire, and as a ‘corpus separatum’ during the Austro-Hungarian period, and during some of the strongest attacks on its historical territorial integrity, such as the Sixth January period dictatorship or the Cvetković-Maček agreement, so that even at the ZAVNOBIH session, after 480 years, by adopting a resolution that was not only a political but also a constitutional act, it would renew its statehood, which was crowned by a successful referendum for independence and international recognition and acceptance into the United Nations, defense against aggression and EU and NATO integration,” he said in an interview with the MINA Agency.

He emphasized that these are undeniable facts that cannot be changed or overshadowed by “attempts to revise history or any other fiction dreamed up by the current leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina.” entity of the RS”.

“According to historical dates and facts, the current officials from the Bosnia and Herzegovina entity of RS behave like little children who cover their eyes so that they don’t see the real world around them, and so they can stay in the world of their imagination. They are trying, completely unsuccessfully, to maintain the fiction that the RS entity is a ‘state’, although it is clear to everyone that only BiH has state and international legal sovereignty and subjectivity, while the RS is an administrative unit within the whole and independent BiH,” said Zvizdić.

He added that, unfortunately, certain officials of Bosnia and Herzegovina entities of the RS continue to spread falsehoods “expecting that a lie repeated a hundred times will once turn into the truth, which will not happen, because the aggression against the independent and international state of BiH, as well as genocide, war crimes and ethnic cleansing have been absolutely documented and judged before the highest international legal instances”.

“After all, the current and nationalist-oriented leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina entity of the RS, refuses to accept any fact related to the thousand-year historical state continuity of BiH, so they do not accept the Charter of Kulina Ban, nor the Bosnian King Tvrtko, nor the decisions of ZAVNOBIH, nor the referendum on independence, and finally not even the provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement which state continuity of BiH was confirmed. Their intentions and goals are clear, but they will not be realized, because integral BiH with its territorial integrity and internal and external sovereignty remains as a permanent category, unlike the entities that were established by the Dayton Peace Agreement and are causally linked to it,” Zvizdić stressed.

He also commented on the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with regard to the aggressive anti-Bosnian policy, which is no longer conducted from the outside towards our country, Serbia and Croatia, but also from the inside by retrograde forces.

“Regarding the current political situation, we are aware of continuous anti-Bosnian activities that come not only from within but also from the region, but we are experienced enough to be able to recognize their carriers and goals so that in any situation we will act institutionally, in accordance with the Constitution and laws, preventively and consistently, and nothing will happen that could harm the interests of BiH”, he said.

He also referred to the importance of the unity of the Bosniak bloc.

“I would not call it the unity of only the Bosniak bloc, but I would rather use a broader and integrating name – the Bosnian and Herzegovina bloc. Establishing BH of the political bloc on clearly defined principles of functioning and strategic goals, and a generally accepted model of leadership and coordination, is an imperative task that already requires concrete activities. That block, whose task would be to create a Platform for the future of BiH, would be a trough through which all ideas and projects that would lead to the strengthening and progress of the state of BiH would flow unhindered, as well as an insurmountable dam for all anti-Bosnian intentions and activities.” Zvizdić believes.

He assessed that membership in the EU and NATO are the most important foreign policy priorities of BiH – that they are synonymous with peace, long-term stability, the rule of law, economic development and social security.

“So, we are talking about processes, standards and projects that are necessary for a safe future, progress and prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, Denis Zvizdić said, among other things.

He sent a congratulatory message to all the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of the great national holiday, with the message that it is extremely important to continuously work on strengthening state-building awareness.
