Zvizdic expects the High Representative to react on the Issue of State Property

Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić said today that the Law on Immovable Property for the functioning of public authorities in the entity of Republika Srpska (RS) is a new political game and that he expects it to be resolved through the reaction of the High Representative.

He added that there is a possibility that this can be done by requesting a constitutional review, which should not be done by five different instances for the sake of populism, but by the two members of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, for which 20 or more signatures can be collected in the House of Representatives.

Zvizdić stated that the RSNA is considering laws and topics that are not within its competence and that is why this law cannot produce any legal effect, regardless of whether it gets passed or not.

He emphasized that the owner of state property is the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which carries the continuity of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Zvizdić reminded that all previous decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina have shown that state property belongs to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that only the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH can give the final say about this matter.

Also, in a statement to the media, Zvizdić expressed the expectation that the new parliamentary majority would appoint Borjana Krišto as the chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers tomorrow and that the BiH Council of Ministers would be completed and appointed by late January 2023.
