In a joint statement, five associations from Bosnia and Herzegovina condemned this week’s address by the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, at the session of the United Nations Security Council, calling it “shameful”.
“Instead of supporting the mothers of Srebrenica, Željka Cvijanović before the UN Security Council deals with procedures, criticisms and other absurdities. How can a mother speak in such a miserable way about the procedures without any feeling for the victims?”, states the joint statement of the Association of Victims and witness to the genocide, the Movement “Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves”, the Association “Women of Podrinje”, and the Association of Mothers of Srebrenica.
Such exposure is said to be “shameful, inhuman and beyond all human norms.”
“The resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica is an act of civilization, while opposition to the resolution is considered immoral and anti-civilizational,” the association’s announcement states.
The resolution will be adopted, and on the thirtieth anniversary of the genocide, two pillars will be erected in Potočari.
A pillar of honor and a pillar of shame, and the name of Željka Cvijanović will be engraved on the latter.
