13236207_1771301083106568_187083518_nThe last two airports that received permission to export products of animal origin are the International Airport Tuzla and Mostar Airport.

“All preconditions for the export of meat and meat products to Turkey from the International Airport Tuzla were created and exports should officially start in the second week of June. The contract with Turkish airline has already been signed and everything is going according to the plan,” said the Director of the International Airport Tuzla, Rifat Karasalihovic, adding:

“We have already signed a contract with the airline My Cargo from Turkey and according to the contract, the export is planned with Boeing 747 aircraft, one of the largest airplanes currently, whose capacity is 110 tons. According to plans, these planes will fly three times a week from the airport. We will see if this will change later.”

Karasalihovic emphasized that everything, both technical and administrative, conditions have been met for one of the most important projects for the region recently. In order for everything to go according to plan, the Government of Tuzla Canton held a special session on Thursday, and made a decision on approval of 250,000 BAM, in order for all preconditions for the start of the project to be met.

Mostar is not ready for cargo flights and export of products of animal origin just yet, although it received permission from the Council of Ministers of BiH.

“Slowly, we are working on this, but it is very important that we are working. Our priorities are charter flights, while on the other hand, we are collecting project documents with the plan of procurement of equipment with the aim of exports of meat. We are heading towards that goal. We must meet a series of tasks that we have put in front of ourselves in the future. I would say that, in comparison with Tuzla, we are somewhere in the middle of the road. Inspections requested fulfillment of whole set of conditions,” said Mark Djuzel, head of traffic of Mostar Airport.

Hint of better days for the Mostar Airport came from Frankfurt, where a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the City of Mostar and the German company ADC from Deidesheim, which represents one of the largest Chinese corporations including the Chinese airline company HNA. Mayor Ljubo Beslic signed the agreement on cooperation on behalf of the City of Mostar.

“Chinese investors are interested in the construction of certain parts for the automotive industry in our industrial area, and they are very interested in the construction of hotels and other accommodation facilities as well as investments in Mostar Airport. Thus, Mostar would receive a large number of tourists and hire a large number of people,” said Beslic.
