central bankCentral Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) has put banknotes in denominations of 10, 50 and 100 BAM and coins of 5,10, 20 and 50 pfennig and 1 BAM into circulation. All the previously mentioned banknotes have been additionally printed in 2017.

Banknotes and coins printed in accordance with the regular activities of the CBBH, which aim to provide enough bank notes and coins of appropriate denomination structure for cash payments system in BiH. The new edition will replace banknotes of previous editions, which will be withdrawn from circulation. Banknotes and coins of previous editions, whose quality is satisfactory in accordance with the standards of the CBBH, will remain in circulation.

The main features of banknotes printed in 2017 will remain the same as on the bills of previous editions, except the new numerical code “2017” as the year of printing mentioned denominations and signature of the Governor of the CBBH “Senad Softic”.

Printing of new quantity of banknotes and coins of Convertible Mark has no inflationary effect since no BAM will be released into circulation without compliance with the principles of the currency board. This means that each issued BAM has coverage in foreign currency at a fixed rate.
