Izetbegovic met with Major General Waldner

Izetbegovic Waldner visit EUFORMember of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegovic received EUFOR Commander in BiH, Major General Anton Waldner, with whom he discussed the security situation and the Euro-Atlantic integrations of BiH.

The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to continue to work on the closer cooperation of EUFOR with the institutions of BiH.

Izetbegovic stressed that the progress on NATO’s path will be done through the adoption of the Defense Review and other steps towards the activation of Membership Action Plan (MAP) and all is the result of a strategic commitment to BiH’s integration into the Alliance’s security system.

General-Waldner stressed that EUFOR will focus on maintaining a safe environment in BiH, as well as cooperation with the Armed Forces of BiH through work on alignment with NATO standards.
