The state of BiH and the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) from 2001 until today have been successfully engaged in peacekeeping missions all around the world, starting with Ethiopia and Eritrea, through Iraq and Afghanistan, to Congo and Mali, where missions are still actual, as announced by the Ministry of Defense of BiH (MoD BiH) on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the accession of BiH to the UN.
According to this ministry, more than 1,200 members of the Armed Forces of BiH participated in these missions.
Moreover, they noted that they performed as the best representatives and ambassadors of BiH before and they are still performing honorably, professionally and responsibly, and in accordance with the UN Charter, the Constitution and the Law on Defense of BiH.
“The participation of members of the Armed Forces of BiH was rated as highly successful by our coalition partners, with high grades for expressed professionalism and responsibility in assigned tasks. That gives the right to all of us in BiH and the Armed Forces to be very proud of these results,” as said from the MoD BiH.
Thus, as they further stated, BiH showed that it is willing and able to give an adequate contribution to joint efforts for the establishment and maintenance of peace and stability in the world as a responsible and credible member of the international community.
