Thanks to joint BiH-Italian investment, there will soon be 135 new jobs in Zavidovići.
The plant for the production of specialized mechanical parts has so far invested around 3 million KM, and until the end of the year investors announces the construction of foundries and new investments.
In the business district of Economy Batvica in Zavidovići they should soon begin production of specialized mechanical parts for turbines, power plants, marine engines and castings for windmills. The result is a joint venture of local and Italian investors. In the first phase of production there will be 135 workers, and around 50 have already begun working.
So far around 3 million KM has been invested for the space and equipment, and investors announce the expansion of production capacity and additional investments of around 800.000 euros.
In a situation where the unemployment in Zavidovići is around 7.000 people, this project mobilized the municipal administration, so all necessary procedures in relation to launching production are efficient and quickly carried out. They Zenica-Doboj Canton government announced its support to this and similar business ventures. The Cantonal Prime Minister Fikret Plevljak asserts that this canton will continue to try to create a favorable business environment in order to motivate foreign investors to come to this region to help reduce unemployment.
The mayor of municipality Zavidovići Suad Omerašević said that he hopes that the example of these investments would be an indicator to others that the capital invested in BiH would be secure.
In the second phase of this project, which should be realized until the end of this year, investors announce employment for 370 more workers because of the planned expansion of production and the construction of the foundry. This serious attempt was confirmed by the statistics that in the economic zone already 10.000 square meters of land has been bought.
