At least 15 Palestinians, most of them children and women, were killed Saturday as a result of Israeli warplanes attacking a school where civilians displaced from the Gaza Strip had taken shelter.
Israeli warplanes bombed the al-Cauni school in the Nusairat region in the central part of the Gaza Strip, where 15 Palestinians, mostly women and children, lost their lives, and dozens were wounded, the Palestinian news agency WAFA announced.
In the news, it is recalled that the Cauni school, where civilians took refuge in the central part of Gaza, has been targeted three times since October 7, 2023.
Israel, in violation of a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire, has faced international condemnation for its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since the October 7, 2023, attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.
Since then, more than 38,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed and more than 87,000 injured, according to local health authorities.
Nearly nine months after Israel’s war, large parts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a blockade of food, clean water and medicine.
Israel has been charged with genocide before the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in the southern city of Rafah, AA writes.
