1,500 athletes to participate at the EYOF 2017

EYOFMinister of Culture and Sport of Canton Sarajevo, Samer Rešidat, held a meeting today with the Director of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) 2017, Samir Avdić and representative of the City Administration of Sarajevo as a member of the Commission for development of general plan for EYOF, Aida Koristović.

Representatives introduced Minister Rešidat with the project and activities taken in the preparation and organization of EYOF. As they emphasized, 1,500 athletes and female competitors from 50 countries will participate, as well as around 4,000 accredited participants.

As part of the EYOF, a large number of volunteers, who will perform organizational tasks are planned, and they are already engaged in this project.

Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Government of Sarajevo Canton will be actively involved in the organization and realization of EYOF.

During the meeting, the co-financing of significant events in the Canton of Sarajevo, including the Sarajevo Film Festival, traditional celebration of New Year’s Eve and others was discussed. Everyone agreed that it is necessary to improve the quality of these events and bring them to a higher level, as announced from the press office of the Sarajevo Canton.
