Five Companies have established Flights at Sarajevo International Airport

Air traffic at Sarajevo International Airport is slowly normalizing, and currently five companies have established flights, is confirmed to Fena news agency.

They point out that Croatia Airlines and Austrian Airlines flights to Zagreb and Vienna are scheduled three times a week.

The flights were previously established by Wizz Air and Air Serbia to Budapest and Belgrade, and as of this week, Eurowings also connects Cologne with Sarajevo once a week.

As of Sunday, June 21st, Turkish Airlines also establishes flights to Istanbul three times a week, and this is a route that is very important and for which there is great interest, considering that Istanbul is a large transfer center.

They note that the companies are the ones that establish the lines, based on market assessments and analyzes, and the interest of citizens for certain lines.

Considering that restrictive measures are still in force in most countries when it comes to the entry of foreign nationals, the Sarajevo International Airport states that this is also the main reason why companies are currently establishing a smaller number of routes.

Significant return of companies and the establishment of flights to destinations that existed earlier are expected in July. In the coming period, it was announced that Pegasus Airlines should establish flights to Istanbul, Flydubai to Dubai, Air Arabia to Sharjah, as well as Flybosnia and Flynas.

However, the establishment and scope of flights will largely depend on the restrictions in force. At the Sarajevo International Airport, they expect a certain number of charter flights, and they also have announcements that certain airlines plan to increase the number of weekly flights in the coming period.
