Federal Ministers held Meeting with EBRD Delegation

Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalic, Deputy Prime Minister and FBiH Minister of Finance Jelka Milicevic and Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Denis Lasic had a meeting today with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) led by Head of the Office for BiH Manuela Naessl, and discussed the modalities of financing the construction of the motorway section on the Corridor Vc Mostar North – Mostar South.

The interlocutors are united in the assessment that this is an extremely important project, so finding a solution for financing the construction would mean closing the financial structure for the entire part of the highway from Tarcin, through the Prenj Tunnel to the south of Mostar.

Prime Minister Novalic pointed out that the financing construction should be closed as soon as possible.

“In a situation when we cannot count much on final consumption and large export results, public investments are the best and safest way to inject money into the economy,” the Federal Prime Minister explained.

He thanked the EBRD for all the investment in BiH, especially when it comes to road infrastructure, but also for bringing transparency to the actions of local authorities.

At today’s meeting, which was attended by representatives of the EBRD Office in London via video link, it was said that the construction of Corridor Vc through Bosnia and Herzegovina is high on the list of priorities of this international financial institution, the Public Relations Office of the FBiH Government stated in the press release.
