The issuance of electronic ID cards began yesterday in Banja Luka. For now, the system is running slow but without any crowds, confirmed by SRNS at the Banja Luka Center for Security. Citizens had until 20:00 to submit a request for an electronic ID card for the price of 18 KM.
The Director of the Agency for Document Identification, Evidence and Data Exchange (IDDEEA) Siniša Macan said that they have successfully completed all preparations for introducing electronic ID cards in BiH.
He said that the current ID card is valid until the expiration date indicated on the ID, and that citizens would not be forced to replace their ID cards.
