Deported BiH citizens Aladin Muminović and Hani El-Šaer arrived at Sarajevo International Airport from the United States today.

A total of 181 BiH citizens are planned to be deported from the United States.

“Two people were deported today, they were taken over at the airport and interviewed, after which they were released because they had served their sentences in the United States,” SIPA spokesperson Jelena Miovčić told Srna news agency.

She added that joint teams have been formed in connection with the deportation of BiH citizens from the United States, including officers from SIPA, the Border Police and the Service for Foreigners.

“All competent police bodies will take measures within their jurisdiction and conduct interviews with all persons who will be deported, after which decisions will be made on their further status,” Miovčić said.

The decision on mass deportations represents the realization of one of the key campaign promises of US President Donald Trump.
