The agreement on the participation of BiH in community program – COSME between BiH and the European Union in Brussels was signed by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mirko Sarovic, and Elzbieta Bienkowska, European Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, on behalf of the European Commission.
The program is intended for the development of entrepreneurship of small and medium enterprises with planned total budget of 2.3 billion EUR in the period 2014 – 2020.
“After the negotiations in 2015 and the first half of this year, BiH has finally completed all procedures and now the European Commission and the Commissioner for Entrepreneurship of small and medium enterprises and the development, signed an agreement COSME. „I took the opportunity to, as the competent Minister, sign this important document that allows small and medium enterprises in BiH to use significant funds from the fund, which are intended precisely for entrepreneurs and small businesses, that is small and medium enterprises in BiH “, said Minister Sarovic.
He noted that the total fund by 2020 is somewhere around 2.3 billion EUR.
“BiH, that is the entrepreneurs, can immediately apply. The application is quite simplified. For 2016 and 2017 we have provided the participation fee, the participation of our country to the annual level of 330,000 EUR and resources. I think this is really good news for entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises in BiH. There are already structures or consortia in Sarajevo and Banja Luka who are waiting for this moment, which will be a kind of platform to support entrepreneurs, prepare them and perform when applying. So I believe that we will use this really good chance, which is in the general interest to the economy of BiH,” noted Sarovic.
