The NGO “Tera Sana” from Sanski Most launched a project of growing medicinal herbs that includes 20 female farmers.
The president of this organization, Ermina Islamčević, said that this project is a part of a program to include women from rural areas in the development of agriculture.
The project is worth 50.000 KM and is supported by the Dutch organization SNV and UN Women.
Islamčević noted that in the framework of the project training of at least 20 women in the production of medicinal herbs is planned.
‘’They will be given planting and seed material, and during production we will have regular consultation on agricultural management practices that are relevant to this production. Women included in this project will sign a cooperative agreement, under which we guarantee them the purchase of the entire amount of produced medicinal herbs according to a pre-arranged prices’’, said the president of the NGO “Tera Sana”.
