2015: Year of Employment in the Sarajevo Canton

Employment Services ekapija.baDuring 2015, the Public Enterprise “Employment Services of the Sarajevo Canton” has been implementing activities from the Work Program of the Services directed towards increasing employment and decreasing unemployment rates, as well as towards provision of material-social security of persons during temporary unemployment, said the Director of Employment Services of the Sarajevo Canton Igor Kamočaji at a press conference in Sarajevo.

Apart from these programs, Kamočaji said, in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Employment for area of the Sarajevo Canton the Services implemented another five programs.

According to data exposed by Kamočaji, in December 2015 72,545 unemployed persons were registered in the Employment Services, which is by 1,130 or 1.58 percent more compared with the same period in 2014.

“Next year will be marked by the Work Program and Financial Plan for 2016, and I would especially highlight our Draft Program for stimulation of employment and maintenance of higher employment rate in the Sarajevo Canton for 2016, within which according to the Financial Plan we have intended to spend 6,548,854 BAM to employ 2,270 persons. Individual incentive measures which will be implemented in 2016 are Program of public works, Program of training, additional training and retraining of unemployed persons for a known employer, Program of training, additional training and retraining of unemployed persons, Program of co-financing of employment ‘Golden Badge’, Program of co-financing of employment of unemployed persons with college education, advanced school degree, secondary school qualifications and skilled professional qualifications, Program of co-financing of employment ‘300+’, and so on,” stated Kamočaji, adding that the Service will also implement programs of the Federal Employment Services for which the FB&H Government allocated 50 million BAM.
