vlasenicaAlliance of detainees in B&H, Mejlis of the Islamic Community Vlasenica and “Preporod“ Vlasenica, organized yesterday a marking  of the 23rd anniversary of tribulations of Bosniaks in the detention camp “Susica“ in Vlasenica.

In the afternoon, in the Vlasenica mosque Hajrija, a tewhid was held, after which a line of families of missing and former detainees went to the detention camp “Susica“ where they met with participants of the March. In the area of the former detention camp, a history class was held which was participated by members of the Alliance of detainees in B&H, survivors of the detention camps from Vlasenica and guests.

More than 8.000 Bosniaks of Vlasenica and Podrinje passed through the camp “Susica“ in 1992. From May to the end of September 1992, that was a detention camp for Bosniaks of the northeastern Bosnia. Bosniaks from Rogatica, Sokolac, Han Pijesak, Zepa, Vlasenica, Milici, Zvornik, Bratunac, Srebrenica, Sekovici and Kalesija, passed through detention tortures of “Susica“.

More than 1.600 persons were killed in a detention camp, while numerous experienced the worst abuse, rape, torments and deportations to other detention camps for non-Serbian people, first to Batkovic, and Bosniaks were often taken out to the war lines as a human shield, as announced from the Alliance of Detainees in B&H.
