Last year, 277 persons were reported missing in the Federation of BiH, and 57 of them are still being actively searched for, it was confirmed to Fena from the Federal Police Administration (FUP).
“There are currently 604 active searches for missing persons in the electronic records of missing persons, which have been maintained since 2010,” emphasized the FUP.
As they say, currently the oldest search for a person is from 2010, and it is about a person from Zavidovići.
Also, according to their experience, the number of disappearances of adults is higher than that of minors.
To the question of whether the disappearance should be reported immediately or if 24 hours have passed since the disappearance, the FUP replied “that according to the Law on Criminal Procedure of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is no prescribed deadline for the notification and it is done from the first time a person’s disappearance is noticed”.
