300 runners compete in the First University Fun Run 4k

Bosnia and Herzegovinian (BiH) student Kosta Suman won the First University Fun Run 4k in 11 minutes and 48 seconds, while Alma Hrnjic won the women’s race in 16 minutes and 6 seconds, here on Sunday afternoon.

The event attracted some 300 runners including 4 km race through the five busiest streets in the city centre of BiH’s capital Sarajevo.

Alija Imamovic and Emir Hastor won second and third place respectively in men’s race, while Dzejla Turkovic and Merima Pindzo placed second and third in the women’s race. Upon the race end, all participants received medals and winners received trip to the capital of Italy, Rome.

“This is the first race of this kind organized in Sarajevo and attended by 300 students. The race went in the best possible manner, without any problems. We are looking forward to organizing the next one in 2018,” Ahmed Nurkovic, one of the organizers, said.

The event aims to promote sports, healthy living and to encourage students to do sports and other social activities as often as possible.
