Offers for the beginning of works on the sections Neum – Stolac were received at the end of 2016. Director of PE Roads of the FBiH Ljubo Pravdic said that the Commission for Evaluation of Offers completed its work and it submitted the Proposal of the Decision on the Selection of Contractors on the approval to international credit institutions (WB and EIB).
After the submission of the Proposal of Decision, international credit institutions requested clarification of certain information that was collected and delivered to banks. They are currently expecting approval from banks, after which they will be able to negotiate contracts, to sign contracts and to start with the work.
He stated that the construction of this main road will be financed by the World Bank (WB) and European Investment Bank (EIB). A total of 40 million EUR was secured for implementation of works and supervision, and funds for expropriation should be provided by the Government of the FBiH and PE Roads of the FBiH.
This is also the most significant project in the Program of Modernization of the construction of the M-17.3 road Neum-Stolac, whose estimated value amounted to 40 million EUR. The total length of the new section is approx. 36km, and it includes the tunnel in the length of around 900 meters. The project is divided into 7 lots with the aim of more efficient implementation.
