More than 50,000 Tourists stayed in the FBiH in December

A total of 51,158 tourists stayed in the FBiH in December 2017, which is by 10 % more than in December 2016 and by 6,3 % more in comparison to November 2017. The share of domestic tourists was 37.2 % while the share of foreign tourists amounted to 62.8 %.

The total number of overnight stays in the month of December 2017 was 88.152, which is by 4.2 % more than in December 2016, and in comparison to November 2017, by 1.6 %. The share of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays was 31.5 %, while the share of foreign tourists was 68.5 %.

According to the type of accommodation, the largest number of overnight stays was realized in hotels and similar types of accommodation with a share of 91.9 %, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics.

In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists, most of the overnight stays were realized by tourists from Croatia (24.7 %), United Arab Emirates (7.1 %), Serbia (6.0 %), Turkey (5.9 %) and Slovenia (4 %), which makes a total of 49.1 %. Tourists from other countries realized a total of 50.9 % of the overnight stays.

The number of available beds in the month of December 2017 was 27,395, which is by 8 % more than in December 2016. The net rate of bed usage for hotels and similar types of accommodation in the territory of the FBiH amounted to 11.5 % in December 2017.
