In Travnik, contracts were signed with 20 users with a total value of more than 281 thousand marks for the implementation of projects that will connect the natural, cultural and historical offer of Travnik, Jajce and Bihać. The aim of the project is to improve the tourist offer and further promote Travnik as an unavoidable tourist destination.
Connecting tourist pearls
The idea of a unique tourist offer called “Waterfall Routes” from Travnik to Jajce and then to Bihać was created several years ago and wholeheartedly supported by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
Unlike Jajce and Bihać, the Travnik waterfalls are located on mountain streams whose discovery requires effort, so the project was accepted with open arms with the aim of this open-air museum enriching the tourist offer and becoming an unavoidable destination on this route.
“We have three pearls that we have offered through this project. The most important thing is that, when it comes to Italian and Western European tourists, we found ourselves in a joint tourist offer with Bihać and Jajce, where Travnik will also have something to offer,” said the head of the Municipality of Travnik, Kenan Dautović.
Support for innovations in tourism
Within the framework of the project, one of the components in all three cities includes funds for strengthening the capacity of employment and innovation in tourism, among which, among other things, are ideas for improving the tourist offer.
“Today we are signing contracts with 20 users who underwent training from November to February and prepared their project ideas,” said Via delle Cascate project director Jasmina Ovčina.
Support for local ideas
Among the supported projects are also initiatives that promote local products and sustainable tourism.
“My trade Via Melis deals with the production of honey. The project implies sustainability and the presentation of small packages of honey as part of the tourist offer,” said the beneficiary of the funds, Karla Kustura.
“The project is primarily focused on the inclusion and affirmation of women in outdoor activities related to tourism,” said the beneficiary of the funds, Ifeta Mameledžija.
Realization in the next nine months
Beneficiaries of the funds, after signing the contract, are obliged to realize their project idea within the next nine months. Within the framework of the project, significant funds are planned for infrastructure, in order to make this unique project of presenting the natural, historical and cultural heritage of Travnik, Jajce and Bihać more accessible to tourists, Federalna writes.
