The Mayor of Sarajevo, Samir Avdić, hosted the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan on Friday, saying that Sarajevo and London share a common mission of improving air quality and protecting citizens’ health.
Avdić pointed out that the exchange of experiences with the capital of the United Kingdom is of great importance for Sarajevo, especially when it comes to the development of sustainable urban policies.
“The capitals of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom share a common mission: improving air quality and protecting the health of our citizens. Exchanging experiences with the British capital is extremely important for Sarajevo,” said Avdić.
He added that Sarajevo, through cooperation with the C40 Cities network, is using London’s rich experience to improve urban development and create better conditions for citizens’ lives.
“In cooperation with the C40 Cities network, we learn from London’s rich experience and create an urban environment modeled after one of the world’s metropolises,” he pointed out.
Avdić thanked Khan for confirming the good relations between the two cities and the mutual willingness to further strengthen friendly ties.
“Thank you Khan for confirming the good relations and the mutual intention to strengthen the friendship of our cities. You are always welcome in Sarajevo,” said the Mayor of Sarajevo.
