The 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Brčko Celebrated

Brcko2Yesterday, the Association of War Veterans of Brčko District marked the 70th anniversary of liberation of Brčko from fascism.

On this occasion, at the Partisan Memorial Cemetery in Brčko, participants of NOR (National Liberation War) and Brčko antifascists placed wreaths and evoked memories of 1945.

On this day in 1945, the unit of NOR have liberated the town of Brčko. We celebrate the jubilee anniversary and we promise that we will never forget soldiers of NOR who gave their lives for freedom. A total of 437 of them are buried at Partizan cemetery, “said the president of the Brčko SUBNOR, Ilija Pajić.

He added that the tradition of celebrating the liberation of Brčko will be continued in the future, primarily because of the increasing interest of young people from Brčko who have responded to the call of SUBNOR.

Brcko‘’Every time, an increasing number of young people are attending the celebration of this day and significant events. There is interest of young people and it makes me happy’’ – said Pajić.
