President of the Steering Committee of the Memorial Center Potočari – Srebrenica Sadik Ahmetović highlighted that Srebrenica is a place that paid the highest price for the independence of BiH.

Mayor of the Srebrenica Municipality Ćamil Duraković said that all those who feel that BiH is their country have the right to celebrate the Independence Day.

„As every year, we feel this holiday as our holiday. Everyone should feel the same. Bosnia and Herzegovina was declared an independent state on March 1 with the will of the citizens. There is nothing disputable there, except those who are trying to disintegrate this country. As long as there is one Bosniak, one Croat, one Serb, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be as well,“ Duraković said.

The Independence Day of BiH is being marked in the FbiH only, while the March 1 is not approved by the Republika Srpska as the Independence Day of BiH. Bosniaks in Srebrenica are celebrating a holiday today and they are not working, while for the Serbs this day is just like any other.
