A Bosnian drawing Comics: from Childhood Dream to Success! (gallery)

[wzslider autoplay=”true”]With the aim of preserving the creative influences that moves characters and stories of comic art in B&H, Association “Another Angle” implemented a number of activities from workshops to the comic festival. In collaboration with the French Institute in B&H, a lecture entitled “Charting comics for real” will be organized on Wednesday. The lecture will be held in the Bosniak Institute in Sarajevo, starting at 6 pm.

The aim of the lecture is to explain the methods of work to visitors, the way to get prestigious engagement and how it seems to work several months on the project of making comic albums Authors with professional commitment, Philip Andronicus and Enis Čišić are talking about life experience, which has led them to become what they are now.

‘’The love for comic books has been present since elementary school, and back then appeared the desire to become a professional artist one day,’’ says Philip Andronicus and adds that, while others dreamed to be lawyers, economists, doctors, he dreamed of being author of comic books that children will read and collect.

The desire to become a famous comic book artist and fulfill his dream led him to the world of art of drawings through exhibitions, workshops and festivals of comics, where he exhibited his works, which made him recognizable very quickly.

‘’Persistence and hard work proved to be worthwhile were quickly, and people from the world of comics began to ask for me – says Andronicus and adds that this way led him to live his dream today.

He’s happy because he was able to get a job as a comic author with a professional commitment to international publishing house Delcourt in France, where he worked as a draftsman in the series “Homme de l’année”.

Enis Čišić shared a similar story. Comics and drawing heroes became his love when he was a boy. This love grew and eventually became an important part of his life. Until a year ago, he worked in advertising agencies animation, and then, at a festival of comics, happiness smiled to him.

His work has been recognized by the publishing house Marvel from the United States, with which, after the test script, he signed a contract for professional artists in the series “The Avengers.”

‘’One of the first comics that I liked to read and the first characters that I drew were Marvel’s stories and heroes,’’ says Čišić and adds that now that he sees himself drawing Spider-Man for a solid salary, he can proudly say that he achieved his long targeted goal.
