The favorite Bosnian and Herzegovinian (BiH) dish will hardly be eaten with such joy as it used to be if the new prices are taken into account. Recently, the price of a kilogram of burek is up to 20 BAM. Cheese and spinach pie costs 18 BAM, and potato piecosts 14 BAM.
Citizens say it’s too expensive.
“20 BAM for burek is too expensive. I don’t know, not sure what to say, my pension is 600 BAM“, says one fellow citizen, while another adds:
“It was more expensive to make at home than to eat out. (Is it too expensive for the pockets of BiH citizens?) Yes, from 800-100 BAM salary, it is too expensive”.
“I think burek is too expensive, 20 BAM, it’s a figure. A normal citizen eats half a kilo, 10 BAM and milk and it goes really high, high for an average resident”, says one from Sarajevo citizens.
That’s how it is, as for everything else. Those who have money will buy, those who don’t will not. We will all reduce our purchases, both fruits and vegetables and everything. That’s how it is.
For guests from the region, however, it is not expensive. Which is not surprising, given that the standard of living of the neighbors is somewhat better.
”It’s cheap and it’s nice. It’s nice to get away sometimes. I’m not from here, I’m from Serbia, there I don’t have what I have here. And it’s very nice here,” says a guest from Serbia, N1 writes.
