A migrant originally from Pakistan died from stab wounds after a fight between several people that took place last night at around 11 p.m. in the Lipa camp near Bihać, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Una-Sana Canton (MUP USK) confirmed.

As the spokesperson for the MUP USK, Abdulah Keranović, told Fena news agency, a cold weapon – a knife – was used in the fight, and one of the migrants suffered serious physical injuries.

“The person was hospitalized at the Cantonal Hospital ‘Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić’ in Bihać, but unfortunately he died at one o’clock after midnight. This is a person with the initials D. Sh., born in 2001, originally from Pakistan,” Keranović said.

The Una-Sana Canton Police are conducting an intensive investigation to clarify all the circumstances of this event.

“Several persons have been deprived of their liberty, and criminal proceedings are underway to identify and prosecute the perpetrators of the criminal offense of murder,” Keranović added.
