Gradiška was hit by a strong storm today at around 2:30 p.m., accompanied by heavy rain, thunder, and hail that whitened the streets and roofs.

The Director of the Anti-Hail Prevention of the Republika Srpska, Tihomir Dejanović, said that timely actions in the Kozara and Potkozarje areas prevented major damage.

He stated that the hail-bearing clouds entered from Croatia, in the area of the confluence of the Una and Sana rivers into the Sava River, that the clouds were strengthening in the area of the Kozara mountain, and that they were moving down the Sava.

“21 rockets were fired in the Potkozarje area, which prevented the occurrence of larger hail. The hail fell at low altitudes for only ten to 15 seconds and was small, and it fell mostly in the urban area of Gradiška,” said Dejanović.

A heavy rain accompanied by smaller hail also hit the Srbac area. The hail fell briefly here.
