In the premises of the Memorial Center Srebrenica – Potocari, a working meeting of the leadership of the Organizing Committee and the president of the subcommittee was held yesterday to mark the 28th anniversary of the genocide against the Bosniaks of the “Safe area of United Nations (UN)” Srebrenica from July 1995.

At the meeting, it was noted that the preparations for the commemoration of the 28th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica are proceeding according to plan.

“At today’s meeting, the presidents of the subcommittees reported on the preparations within their subcommittees. We can say that the preparations are going according to plan and we expect that everything will be ready for the commemoration of the 28th anniversary of the genocide. Soon we will also have a meeting of the Organizing Committee. This year we will also have a large number of activities. We have an obligation to the victims and it is our task to do our best so that everything goes smoothly,” the president of the Organizing Committee, Hamdija Fejzic, said yesterday.

This year, the “Peace March” is one of the most massive activities in the commemoration of the anniversary of the genocide, and this year a larger number of participants is expected than in previous years.

According to information from the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), 19 victims of genocide have been identified so far for the funeral on July 11th, 2023.
