The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced Boško Unčanin, Marinko Miljević and Dragan Despot to a total of 54 years in prison for participating in the murder of 74 civilians in Velagići near Ključ on June 1, 1992.

Unčanin, Miljević and Despot were sentenced to 18 years in prison each, and were found guilty of crimes against humanity, i.e. that they, as members of the Army of the Republika Srpska, participated in the persecution of the civilian Bosnian population in the area of Ključ.

Unčanin and Despot did not appear at the sentencing, and the Court issued a decision ordering their detention.

Miljević, who is serving a sentence for another crime, attended today’s hearing.

The court partially accepted the request of the injured witness “A” that the three defendants jointly pay him 20,000 BAM for causing mental pain, due to the loss of his father and two brothers.

The trial of Unčanin, Miljević and Despot began in September 2022.

An appeal to the Appellate Council of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is allowed, BIRN BiH reports.
