bijeljinaThe Mayor Mićo Mićič today adopted the decision on abolition of emergency state in Bijeljina, two months after floods occurred.  This decision was brought based on the proposal of the City Staff for Emergency Situation.

The emergency state was in force until today for 9 villages in Semberija, which were damaged due to floods in May.

A representative of the Headquarters for Emergency Situations Slaviša Savić confirmed that the abolition of emergency state does not mean that in these villages situation is completely normal, but as he says, is not for emergency situation.

“We have 52 people that are in collective accommodation in this area, which will be regularly supplied with food and all other needs as well. All the  humanitarian assistance in the upcoming period will be distributed in these villages”, said Savić.

The emergency situation is not anymore in force with today’s decision for the most vulnerable flooded villages near the river Sava: Velino Selo, Jelaz, Trnjaci, Ostojićevo, Balatun, Brodac, Batković-Klis, Vršani and Novi.

About 10.000 houses has been flooded in Bijeljina in May and is estimated that the cost of the damages is about 150 million BAM.
