On the occasion of the World Day of Abandoned Animals, from today until 7 April, from 12 to 6 p.m. in Sarajevo, action of collecting the money, food and other necessities which are need for dogs in asylums will be collected, reports FENA.
Representatives of Prača asylum and Gladno Polje asylum hope that a great number of citizens will participate in this action and help dogs who live in asylums to survive.
One of the aims of this event is to incite adoption of dogs from asylums so that interested citizens will have the opportunity to socialize with dogs in gallery Bela Vida.
‘On the occasion of World Abandoned Animals Day, from today until Sunday in the hall of Importane Centre in Sarajevo, both asylum of Gladno Polje and Prača will participate. Today, there are three females from Prača, and it would be lovely if they get a home’, said to FENA manager of Prača asylum Amela Turalić.
She said that the asylum in Prača hosts 550 dogs and there is still free space.
In Sarajevo, according to latest data, there are more than 11 000 strays. Some do live in asylums while the rest live in the street because of the lack of accommodation and food.
