Activist Aida Corovic received a Verdict for Throwing Eggs at Ratko Mladic’s Graffiti

Activist Aida Ćorović received a verdict from the Criminal Court in Belgrade that she was guilty of disturbing public order and peace when in November 2021 in Belgrade she threw eggs at the graffiti of war crimes and genocide convict Ratko Mladić, and the verdict ordered her to pay a fine of 100,000 dinars, according to her post on the social network Facebook.

She wrote that she received the verdict on Tuesday and that Serbia became a “penitentiary and casemate” during the rule of Aleksandar Vučić, in which all types of criminals, murderers and “scum of every kind” have all possible protection, while everyone else is on the sidelines.

“I traced my path a long time ago, I didn’t know how much it would cost me, but if I could go back, I would always choose the same scenario,” said Ćorović.

According to her, the pressures will not discourage and scare her, because those who apply those pressures are more afraid of people like her, than she is afraid of them.

The first hearing in this process began in March 2022, and Ćorović then said that she did not feel guilty and that in the explanation of the summons to the court it was stated that she “targeted the building and cursed the policemen”.
