Ademovic: BiH Foreign Minister cannot make Decisions at the Local Level, there will be a Referendum

Councilor in the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Centar, Jasmin Ademović, in an interview for Face TV, spoke about why the municipal councilors of NiP initiated the initiative to dismiss the mayor of the Municipality of Centar, Srđan Mandić.

He said that he was definitely not the creator of the initiative for the dismissal of the head of the Municipality of Centar, Srđan Mandić.

“Citizens know that we have had problems in the municipality of Centar for two years. Those problems have escalated. When we consider that 16 councilors signed the initiative. Nine councilors from the People and Justice club signed the initiative. It is ugly to underestimate all those people, because they they have their own attitude and integrity. Behind this is the municipal board of NiP Center, the Executive Board unanimously, also the assembly,” said Ademović.

When asked by a journalist whether the president of NiP, Elmedin Konaković, knew about the plan to launch an initiative to recall the mayor of Centar municipality, Ademović said that he did not know.

“We didn’t discuss this topic with him before the session. It didn’t just happen overnight,” said Ademović, adding that the dissatisfaction has been going on for more than a year.

He emphasizes that citizens should know that a thematic session of the municipal council related to infrastructure was held earlier.

“After we asked a certain number of questions to Chief Mandić, he left the session. He was not ready to answer any of those questions, which was really devastating. Seven days after we resumed that session, we again requested the chief to give us answers to the questions, to the problems that all citizens see. That the city is dirty, neglected, that the grass is overgrown, that large infrastructure projects are not being done, especially in local communities where we received a lot of support,” said Ademović.
He pointed out that he was dissatisfied with Mandić’s work.

“We are the most deserving that he was elected mayor. And he himself said that we visited all the streets with him, and we did. That is why we feel the greatest responsibility. We are absolutely dissatisfied, the execution of the budget has been catastrophic in the past two years. We are transferring 30 million BAM each. As a citizen, I think that 99 percent of citizens are dissatisfied. Citizens criticize us every day. Imagine when the grass is two meters in the inner core of the center,” said Ademović.

He claims that Mandić cannot expect KJKP Park Sarajevo to mow down the municipality of Centar, given that they have 37 percent of the area in Sarajevo Canton.

“You have to sit down with the people, make a contract, say which areas are not planned, allocate money for it, then it would be mowed. In case you cannot do it through KJKP Park, establish a new company or do it through a third company,” said Ademović.

He emphasizes that Mandić does not want to implement a series of projects that have been launched.

“Raise your hand for the budget, all the councilors do it, because the projects we delegated are in the budget itself. When the implementation starts, he realizes only what is interesting to him,” said Ademović.

He adds that money is not a problem in the Municipality of Centar.

“The budget of the Municipality of Centar is about 80 million BAM. Mandic is not able to spend more than 50 percent of the budget. Compare with other mayors, Muzur and Efendić, you can see that it ranges from 20 up to 30 percent,” Ademović said.

He emphasized that the recall referendum will not cost the citizens 500,000 BAM, as Mandić said, but 120,000 BAM.

“It’s a big difference in price. That’s Mr. Mandić’s problem, his prices are constantly increasing,” said Ademović.

He went on to say that the decision to initiate the recall was not an easy one.

“But we stand behind her because we know how much Srđan Mandić has not done. We know that he comes to work at 11, very often hungover”; Ademovic said.

He added that there is no schism in Narod i Pravda, but that party president Konaković cannot make decisions at the local level in order to prevent the impeachment of Mandić.

“If our operating structure, our Statute said that the president can make decisions at the local level, then we would respect it. We will respect everything that is in accordance with the NiP Statute. We can respect or not respect his opinion, but we must make our own decisions,” Ademović said.

He also said that the claim that he will run for mayor of Centar Municipality is a lie, and that he is certain that Mandic will be recalled in the referendum, Klix.ba reports.
