Adnan Delic to be New Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton?

After the local elections, Elmedin Konakovic, the president of the People and Justice (NiP), said that he was seriously counting on the candidate of ”the Four” for the mayor of Novi Grad Sarajevo, Adnan Delic.

In a statement for Klix.ba, Delic referred to the rumors about the continuation of his political career. He noted that as a candidate he was not a member of any party and that this remained unchanged.

He commented on allegations about his role in the new convocation of the Sarajevo Canton Government, and was mentioned as a possible candidate for cantonal prime minister.

“I am currently on vacation and I am not running away from any responsibility. I have not conducted any talks on the issue of the prime minister-designate, but also no other positions,” Delic said.

He was runner-up in the local elections with 19,610 votes, while the winner, Democratic Action Party (SDA) candidate Semir Efendic, had 20,530 votes.

In a statement from September this year for Klix.ba, former cantonal prime minister Edin Forto from Nasa stranka pointed out that there is a possibility that he will hold this position again.

Delic is the founder and president of the Board of Directors of the humanitarian organization dobro.ba, which gathers more than a thousand and a half donors, and which has so far implemented hundreds of actions across the country. Delic is also the founder of the Fair Play Sports Association and until recently the president and main organizer of the Fair Play futsal league for adults and children, and one of the initiators of the memorial tournament “Ramiz Salcin”, which brings together about 600 participants for eight or three years. He is also a member of the Majlis of the Islamic Community in Sarajevo.

“For many years, I have been touring BiH with my friends who are humanitarians and talking to people who are left on their own. Among the many honest people whose donations we have passed on to the poor and sick, on the one hand, and the government that does not take care of the needy, on the other – I knew it could and must be better, because there are good people, but they are not allowed to articulate it institutionally”.

Adnan Delic was born on October 6th, 1985. in Maglaj, he is a professor of sports and physical education, he is married and has two children.
