Adopted Set of Energy Laws is important for Citizens of BiH

The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomes last night’s adoption of a set of energy laws in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and thanks all the representatives who put the interests of the citizens first, instead of personal self-promotion and using the parliamentary platform for the worst kind of populism.

“It is known that the adoption of the proposal for the Law on Energy and Regulation of Energy Activities in the FBiH, the proposal for the Law on Electricity in the FBiH and the proposal for the Law on the Use of Renewable Energy Sources is one of the priorities for speeding up Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path towards the European Union.”

The trend of decarbonization

Apart from the part that is important for European integration, we must not forget the direct interest of the citizens, in the context of the future energy policy of the FBiH, especially in the time of the energy crisis, but also the general trend of decarbonization. International partners have already spoken positively about the passed law. We believe that the adoption of these laws also has a broader strategic significance for bringing the EU closer together and ensuring further support in all fields.

However, what is surprising is the resistance of the SDA and their satellites, whose representatives led the last convocation of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and who, until yesterday, publicly proclaimed the adoption of the aforementioned laws.

Absolute powerlessness

Yesterday’s all-day performance for the public by the representatives of the SDA and the DF, only once again proved their absolute powerlessness and the only thing left for them to do is to try to obstruct the work of the Parliament.

Finally, SDP BiH strongly condemns all the threats of force addressed to the leaders of the House of Representatives at the end of last night’s session. This type of treatment towards the highest legislative body in the FBiH is nothing new on the part of the SDA and the DF, who are only ready to use force, as they tried to do with the failed protest attempt at the end of April, when there was also a physical attack on some representatives during voting of the new Government of the Federation of BiH – statements from the SDP.
