AeroItalia cancelled Flights to Bosnian City

“At the moment there are no scheduled flights to Mostar”, the AeroItalia airline confirmed to Bljesak.info, although a few months ago it was officially announced that Mostar Airport will be connected by a regular line to the Italian city of Forli near Bologna.

Otherwise, the flights started on April 7, 2023, and are planned until October 24, 2023, with an ATR72 aircraft with a capacity of 68 seats.

The flights were to be operated by the airline AeroItalia, and the departures from Mostar were to be every Tuesday and Friday at 09:10. On the official website of the airline AeroItalia, there are no flights between Mostar and Forli.

By the way, this information about flight cancellations was pointed out by a reader who sent a letter disappointed by the said cancellations, writes Bljesak.info.

“I am writing to you in order to inform the residents of Mostar about the misinformation that our City is spreading together with Mostar Airport and to avoid the inconveniences and costs that I experienced. Pleased with the information that this summer we can finally travel from Mostar, as claimed by the management of our airport, which is paid thanks to the citizens of this country, full of enthusiasm on Sunday, 07.06.2023 I decide to buy two tickets on the route Mostar-Forli-Mostar, and then two more tickets for the final destination, because the flight to Forli was only a link to continue, exactly as the director and the City persistently say when they talk about these famous flights from Mostar,” writes the reader.

Due to the impossibility of fitting all the mentioned flights, she decided to spend the night next to Forli and booked accommodation as well.

“Happiness lasted even two days. Yesterday I received an email from the Italian airline Aeroitalia that all flights for the entire season on the route Mostar-Forli were canceled for no reason. In shock, I visit the website of our airport, of course there is no information. I also visit the page through which our airport offers to buy tickets to the specified destination, of course there is no information there either and flights from Mostar are still regularly offered. I remember that among the comments on the airport’s Facebook page, I accidentally skimmed over the comments and remembered that someone had left a comment advertising flights to Zagreb that would then be cancelled. Of course, the mentioned comment no longer exists, and below the airport’s posts it says that comments are limited. As an apology, they offer us four dates on which they kept the flight from Mostar, although these dates now have nothing to do with the days of the week on which the flights from Mostar were allegedly announced, in case there are free seats – the reader wrote.

Exasperated and with a lot of questions on her mind, the reader asks who will refund her overnight stay and ticket to her final destination.

– They did not write who will cover the accommodation in Forli, if I agree to those dates, because I will have to wait for the onward flight. I ask the City of Mostar and the airport, who will cover and reimburse me the tickets from Forli to my final destination? Who will be sanctioned, and in what way, for the fact that such important information was not immediately released to the public in order to avoid costs and stress for citizens? And the last question, when will this stop being presented as a nice story and start handing out dismissals for lying to citizens? – asked the bewildered citizen.

As a reminder, in January, EX-YU Aviation announced that the Italian carrier AeroItalia was starting seasonal summer flights from Forli in the Emilia-Romagna region in northern Italy to Mostar.
